This is why I love it.

Just watched this on YouTube today. I'd seen it floating around the internet for about a week before I got the chance to watch it. It's really amazing... listening to the housewife, for example, describe this thing she is experiencing and seeing, and she has no frame of reference. No one has heard about LSD yet, there are no preconceptions, there is no background fear. No one has told her, "This is an illegal drug that will cause you to wildly hallucinate, and sometimes people have gone crazy or jumped out of buildings on it, thinking they can fly." No wonder people can so easily freak out.

This is a wonderful example, from a long time ago, and it illustrates quite beautifully the effects of this magical chemical.
